Most desk workers spend long hours sitting in front of a computer. Prolonged sitting, poor posture, and workstations that aren’t ergonomic could lead to back pain. Here are some spinal health tips for desk workers:
- Pay Attention to Your Posture: Poor posture often is the leading cause of back pain for desk workers. It’s important that you sit up straight and you keep your head in line with your spine to prevent pain.
- Take Breaks: Your body isn’t built to spend long periods of time in one position. Staying sedentary for too long can put stress on your spine and can lead to stiffness. Try to take breaks every 30 minutes or so to stretch.
- Use Tools Wisely: Modern tech can be helpful, but it also encourages us to stay glued to our screens. Using a tool like a standing desk can help alternate between sitting and standing.
