How to Create a Spine-Friendly Home Office

Ever since COVID, working from home has become a popular choice in certain careers. Many people have adapted to working from home by creating make-shift office setups that may not be great for your spine health. Here are some things you can do to make your home office more spine-friendly:

  • Good Desk Height: Your desk should be at a height where your elbows are at a 90 degree angle when typing. Having your desk at the right height helps to reduce the risk of strain in your neck and back.
  • The Right Chair: Choosing the right chair is one of the most important things you can do to prevent back pain. You should aim for an ergonomic chair with lumbar support in order to maintain the natural curve of your lower back.
  • Keyboard and Mouse Setup: You should place your keyboard and mouse close to each other to minimize reaching. Using a wrist rest can also help to reduce strain on your wrists and shoulders.
