About William Capicotto M.D., PC

Born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY, William Capicotto MD, PC is the leading spine surgeon in Western New York, one of the first surgeons in the country to perform Total Disc Replacement Surgery in the United States, and the first spine surgeon in WNY to be certified in Endoscopic Spine Surgery (Ultra Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery.)

He began his career journey in the early 1970s, graduating from SUNY at Buffalo and the Bachelor of Arts 1976 Honors Program. He then went on to receive his Medical Degree from SUNY at Buffalo School of Medicine 1980 Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, performing his Spine Fellowship at SUNY at Buffalo in 1986.

William Capicotto MD was certified by American Board of Orthopedic Surgery in 1988, achieving the highest score in the United States on his orthopedic board examination, and recertified in 1996, 2007, and 2016. He is currently in the process of recertifying for a fourth time, making him one of the most experienced spine surgeons in the United States and in North America.
