Spring Forward with a Stronger Spine

Spring is a season of renewal, growth, and new starts. If you’re looking for something to improve in this upcoming season, why not improve your spine health? Here are some tips for strengthening your spine this spring:

  • Core-Strengthening Exercises: A strong core and spine go hand-in-hand. Some exercises you can try to strengthen your core are plank holds and bird dogs. Bird dogs are when you are on all fours and you extend your right arm and left leg out and hold it for a few seconds and then switch. This exercise helps to improve balance and spinal stability.
  • Stretch it Out: Regular stretching helps to keep your muscles loose and your spine flexible and strong. One of the best stretches you can do is the Cat-Cow stretch.
  • Yoga Poses: Yoga is a great way to relieve stress and strengthen your spine. Some poses you can do are Downward Dog and Bridge Pose.
