How to Avoid Back Pain While Decorating for Fall

Now’s the time to bring out those pumpkins, wreaths, and more to decorate your home for the fall season. As you’re getting everything ready to decorate, the last thing you’ll be thinking about is a potential back injury. Here are some things you can do to avoid back pain while decorating:

  • Lift Properly: When you’re decorating, you’re probably picking up a lot of heavy boxes filled with decorations. It’s important that you’re lifting these boxes properly by lifting with your knees instead of your back to avoid causing any pain.
  • Take Breaks and Stretch: It’s easy to get lost in decorating for hours on end, but it’s important that you give your body a break from time to time. You should try to take a break every 30 to 45 minutes or so.
  • Maintain Good Posture: Maintaining a neutral position helps to prevent muscle fatigue and strain.
