Winter is the perfect time for travel whether that be visiting the snowy mountains or visiting family. However, with all the things that traveling requires, it can strain your back. Here are some tips for avoiding pain while traveling this winter:
- Maintain Good Posture: Good posture is key to having a healthy spine. If you’re traveling for long periods of time, take breaks to stand and stretch. You could also use a pillow as lumbar support to reduce pressure on your lower back.
- Choose the RIght Luggage: Using a rolling suitcase allows you to pull your bags rather than carry them on your back. Aim for a suitcase that has a handle that extends to a comfortable height so you don’t have to hunch over when pulling your luggage.
- Stretch your Back: Before your trip, take a few minutes to stretch your back. Great stretches to try are hamstring stretches and planks.
