What is Time Under Tension?

Counting seconds, not reps. (Okay, counting reps too.) For those who aren’t familiar with the phrase “time under tension,” this approach to strength training focuses on the length of time your muscle is under tension (also referred to as under strain or under load). That means slowing down your reps and really controlling your movement for better muscle activation.
